Road to Success
Another branding-sector entrepreneur, René Theil, Managing Director of PromoClip Asia, has another story to tell. His company develops products for corporate branding, in the form of paper clips, which allows companies to market their logo and services. Launched last year, Mr Theil’s company has expanded from two employees to 10.

Hong Kong has the right environment to start a business, according to Mr Theil. “It’s very easy to set up a business here; there’s not a lot of red tape. It’s a very entrepreneurial city, and there are a lot of SMEs.”

Mr Theil said that he has received considerable support from the government, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council and InvestHK. “There are many resources, and it’s not expensive. Hong Kong’s location also means it’s easy to travel around the region. The tax environment is friendly. The government also sets up great incentives for launching SMEs, and exhibitions help build your supplier and customer network.”
